You know what? I’m going to rant. *cough*:

STOP LABELING MASS MURDERS AND OTHER PSYCHOPATHS AS GOTHS.

Every stinkin’ time some person with mental issues or just plain stupidity shoots up a place people start labeling them as goths cause they wore black tee shirts and black denim all of the time.
That makes the rest of us Goths look bad.

Seriously. Stop with the stereotypes.

That’s like saying that just because I am BLACK and GOTHIC I am going to:
-Eat Fried Chicken
-Worship the devil
-Listen to Rap/HipHop
-Slaughter Goats
-Wear Ghetto clothes
-slit my wrists
-Love Watermelon
- and go kill people when I get depressed

I love
-bunnies
-sunny days in the park(with a parasol duh)
-purple jewelry
-walks on the beach
-exploring new places
-Meeting new and interesting people
-and I have an addiction to fabric.

I:
-drive a hearse,
-listen to music my mum doesn’t approve of,
-have a few more piercings than normal
-have crazy hair colors.

That doesn’t mean I want to kill people.

I know goths that are
-Hearse Driving Mormons
- Catholic
- Gay Christians
- Mothers
-Fathers
-Sisters
-Brothers
These are loving, giving individuals who
-give to their community, fight for the environment,
-animal rights,
-social change,
-and freedom for ALL.

We
-vote with you,
-Live near you,
-We shop at the same stores(well not the clothing ones) ,
-go to the same schools,

We
-love trips to Disneyland
-cruise ship adventures,

We serve our country (ie my husband and the many other goths in the military).

We are YOU,
just a little different.

Just because we don’t look like you doesn’t mean we are plotting your demise.

Every time you label one of these shooters as “Goth” Guess who gets treated like scum?

Me. And people like me.

Stop that.

About Delightfully Deviant and designer Pandora
My Name is Pandora. I started sewing at a young age as taught by my mother. I have always had a passion for making my own clothing because I could not find clothing that was unique enough for my tastes. I started making my own clothing in high school and as I grew older my tastes evolved. I never liked showing up to a event and seeing someone wearing the same clothing I was. So I started making my own gothic clothing in early 2004. When I got married I made matching outfits for my Husband as well. I always struggled working in mainstream jobs because I never liked the uniforms and tried to alter them in some small way. In 2008 my husband told me I should start a business to support my growing hobby of sewing. I then purchased the website (www.DelightfullyDeviant.com )
(under construction) but it took the drastic move from California to Washington State in 2009 and my new friends here to really push me to believe I was skilled and talented enough that people would love what I could make for them.
I started Delightfully Deviant in early 2011 after my last job. I threw all caution to the wind and decided to follow my passion not the mainstream.

What We Need & What You Get
The funds will be going toward the ability to stock up on materials such as lace trim, fabric (faux fur, pvc, cotton, twill etc), elastics, thread and just about anything. Orders are currently filled on a “as soon as possible” basis because they take longer to produce when the supplies need to be ordered before we create. We need to stock. Having everything in our hands on standby makes it possible to roll out orders faster and bring out whole new lines of designs.

The Impact
Earlier this year we moved from my living room to a 1650sqft warehouse in the industrial park of Oak Harbor. We hired on a few local seamstresses to help with orders and inventory build up. Between the cost of moving and the initial investment in the new location we stretched our budget to the max. In order to pay all parties fairly and refill our stock supply the funding is desperately needed to continue our upward motion.

I went through a really tough time at the beginning but come through it at the end to be a more rounded person and proud to be both black and Gothic.
